April 6 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Tuesday April 10, 2018, the compulsory Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) will be written by over one third of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School students. It is a requirement that all students successfully complete (pass) this test in order to receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The first opportunity for students to write the OSSLT is in grade 10.

In order to support a testing atmosphere conducive to maximizing student success and minimizing distractions, we will be revising the school day schedule on April 10th as follows:

Students who are not involved in writing the OSSLT will have a later start to their school day as explained in the overview of the schedule below. It is important to note that all students are expected to be in full and complete uniform on that day.

(For those writing the OSSLT)

Session 1:    8:30 am – 9:45 am
Break:          9:45 am – 10:00 am
Session 2*:  10:00 am – 11:25 am *includes time for student questionnaire

AFTERNOON SCHEDULE (remainder of the day)
